Deep breathing relaxes the mind and prepares it for Meditation later. Breathing hence is followed by meditation as ur mind is relaxed, calm and cool.

Meditation are of many types, its better to learn simple techniques which can be practiced at home by yourself self, beginning with controlling the mind as everything starts and ends with countless thoughts running in our minds. So, first step is to  trying to keep it cool, calm at ease and then rest follows.
